Maribel Romero

Maribel Romero received her Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in September 1998. Her dissertation is titled “Focus and Reconstruction Effects in Wh-Phrases”. From 1998 until 2007, she taught at the Department of Linguistics at the University of Pennsylvania, first as an Assistant Professor and later as an Associate Professor. In the fall of 2007, she joined the faculty at the Department of Linguistics at the University of Konstanz.

Her research interests include topics in Formal Semantics, the Syntax-Semantics interface and the Semantics-Pragmatics interface. Among other topics, she has worked on adjectives, questions, focus, ellipsis, reconstruction, choice functions, presupposition projection, negation, intensionality, concealed question NPs, individual concepts, copular sentences, inverse linking, epistemic bias and superlatives.
