The Executive Committee is inviting bids to host LFG17.
Given the general practice of ILFGA (rotation among three parts of the world: (i) North and South America (ii) Europe and Africa (iii) Asia, Australia and the Pacific), the locations of previous conferences (from 2011), the locations of LFG15 and LFG16 (see below), now it is bids from the Americas that should enjoy priority. In case there are no bids from that part of the world, Asia, Australia and the Pacific can have a chance. In addition, if a potential host from a different continent has some specific reasons and arguments for organizing LFG17 that can also be taken into consideration. Previous and upcoming LFG conferences:From Tibor Laczkó, Secretary-Treasurer of the ILFGA:
"I am pleased to announce that Louise Mycock and George Aaron Broadwell have been elected to the Executive Committee of the International Lexical-Functional Grammar Association. They will replace Victoria Rosén and György Rákosi, whose terms have come to an end. We thank Victoria and Gyuri for their years of truly valuable service to our association! In addition, I am grateful to Victoria for her most efficient work as Chair and all the support I received from her in my first Secretary-Treasurer year. We also thank the other three candidates for accepting the nomination and their willingness to work for the ILFGA."From Tibor Laczkó, Secretary-Treasurer of the ILFGA:
"I am delighted to report that Kersti Börjars has been elected Chair of the Executive Committee of the International Lexical-Functional Grammar Association. We thank her for her service to the association!"From Tibor Laczkó, Secretary-Treasurer of the ILFGA:

"I am pleased to announce that all three amendment proposals have been unanimously approved. I have added the amendments to the constitution and made the changes accordingly." The three amendments are: The sentence "There shall be maximally three non-voting members of the Executive Committee: the Secretary-Treasurer, the Bulletin Maintainer, and the LFG List Maintainer." shall be removed from Article III.2. The sentence "If the Bulletin Maintainer is not already an elected member of the Executive Committee, then the Bulletin Maintainer shall be a non-voting member of the Executive Committee." shall be removed from Article III.4. The sentence "If the LFG List Maintainer is not already an elected member of the Executive Committee, then the LFG List Maintainer shall be a non-voting member of the Executive Committee." shall be removed from Article III.4.Congratulations to Professor Joan Bresnan, who has been elected a Corresponding Fellow of the British Academy.
Corresponding Fellows are scholars outside the UK who have attained high international standing in any of the branches of study which it is the object of the Academy to promote. Those branches of study cover the whole range of Humanities and Social Sciences. The British Academy is as a body complementary to the Royal Society, which covers the natural sciences and medicine. Up to a maximum of 20 new Corresponding Fellows are elected every year. There are currently 320 Corresponding Fellows and over 1,000 "Ordinary" Fellows. Members of the latter group are based in the UK and include Professor Mary Dalrymple and Professor Nigel Vincent of the LFG community. A full list of Fellows and Corresponding Fellows in the section of the Academy called 'Linguistics and Philology' can be found at:From Professor Dorothee Beerman:
"Our research group has released TypeCraft 2.2 which might be an event of interest to the LFG community. TypeCraft: http://typecraft.org/tc2wiki/User:Dorothee_Beermann TypeCraft is a linguistic data management system developed at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. The application allows the creation and retrieval of Interlinear Glossed Text. We offer data sets from less resourced languages for free download. Our Portal of Languages allows an overview of our public resources."'Drafts for comments' offers bulletin readers the opportunity to submit information about drafts or projects on which they would like to receive comments from the community. This brings work in progress to the attention of the community and plays some of the role that previous incarnations of the archive played.
Please submit basic article/project information and (a) a URL if the item is available online or else (b) your contact email.
